The first one-hundred days of school have been particularly hard on some of the students in Mrs. Herwick's class, who are really showing their age in celebration of the 100th Day!
Luck Kindergarten students recently took a virtual field trip to Antarctica where they were introduced to and learned about the animals that live in the cold. They learned about insulation...much like the winter clothes they wear in winter to keep warm, the animals have feathers or fur to keep warm. They also put a bare hand into a bucket of ice water and described how it felt. This student has her hand in ice water, but it's inside a 'blubber' glove.
This virtual field trip was a first for the kindergarten and it proved to be very interesting and fun!
Five Luck HS choir members were among the 255 high school boys from across the state who attended the "Brothers, Sing On" workshop with Dr. David Rayl at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Jan. 27. They were accompanied by Choir Director Jennifer and 7-12 Principal Brad Werner for the day-long workshop. The day concluded with the boys performing in a free public performance.
Luck Middle School students tackled project-based learning recently and completed an impressive “Asia project”.

Many thanks go to the teachers and staff who organized this sizable project; we look forward to the next one!

During that event, each speaker or group performed 3 times and was required to earn a score of 20 (out of 25) points to advance to the State Tournament. 31 students competed on April 1 and 27 will be advancing to Madison for the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association’s State Festival.
Six Luck High School students participated in the Upper St. Croix Valley Music Association’s Instrumental Music Honors Concert in January at Frederic HS. Over eighty-five students spent the entire day rehearsing with two guest clinicians.
